i carry your heart with me(i carry it in
my heart)i am never without it(anywhere
i go you go,my dear;and whatever is done
by only me is your doing,my darling)
i fear
no fate(for you are my fate,my sweet)i want
no world(for beautiful you are my world,my true)
and it's you are whatever a moon has always meant
and whatever a sun will always sing is you
here is the deepest secret nobody knows
(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud
and the sky of the sky of a tree called life;which grows
higher than soul can hope or mind can hide)
and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart
i carry your heart(i carry it in my heart)

read this at natasha's site sometime within the last couple of weeks too. great poem.
I love this poem. I even included it in a Valentine for my ex. Doesn't change my opinion of EE Cummings though.
I just read this on laurasporra's site!
It's a beautiful poem. Something about it reads so intoxicatingly, almost like a Neruda or a Paz poem...
gorgeous! I don't know much ee cummings; this makes me want to read up on him.
awww... this was the poem our friends read at our wedding!
Any reason in particular for posting?
mar gar ri tas is RIGHT, girl. I'm sitting at home curled up on my sofa with a hunk of chocolate cake and Patsy Cline on the stereo. I stopped off at the Greenhouse on my way home for chocolate mousse cake. No one makes cake like them. I figured out my to-do list for this weekend, and it is SCARY. So I knew I deserved chocolate cake in a hardcore sort of way.
Gah.
I wish I could just SLEEP right now, though.
Sunday afternoon!!! Sunday afternoon!!!
